8Zille Glass Artwork

1968Axel Springer was a great admirer of the sometimes earthy works of Heinrich Zille, the “Milljöh” artist who captured scenes and characters from Berlin around the turn of the century. In 1968, Springer acquired a collection of 107 works by Zille, including his only pieces created on glass. In 2026, they were assembled into a panorama that now stands in the Ullstein Bar on the 19th floor of the high-rise. In the light of sunset, the images unfold a very special magic.
