1990The monument “Fathers of Unity”, created by French sculptor Serge Mangin, was unveiled by former German Chancellor Helmut Schmidt on September 29, 2010. It stands at the former main entrance of the high-rise. It depicts Helmut Kohl, Mikhail Gorbachev and George Bush, who helped make German reunification politically possible after the peaceful revolution of 1989 – fulfilling Axel Springer’s lifelong dream.
